Plegit set out to create a modern fundraising platform for churches and charities. They wanted to support donation campaigns, events, livestreaming and peer-to-peer fundraising — all while keeping platform fees affordable.
The challenge
Many small organisations still managed donations manually or relied on high-fee services. Plegit’s founders, not coming from a tech background, needed a partner who could deliver the right technology without complexity.
Our approach
We researched best practices in digital fundraising and interviewed potential users to identify what features mattered most. Together we designed an architecture that integrated event management, payment processing, livestreaming and reporting. We prepared a clear schedule of deliverables and explained each milestone to the founders so they knew what to expect.
Implementation
Development focused on a simple donation flow, event tools and a secure payment gateway. We added a livestream feature that let organisations broadcast services and appeal for donations in real time. Throughout the build, weekly catch-ups kept the Plegit team informed and aligned with their values and budget. Documentation and recordings gave them transparency without overwhelming them with technical detail.
Outcome and impact
Plegit launched its platform within the planned timeframe, providing charities with a user-friendly portal to run campaigns, host events and collect donations securely. Donor retention and fundraising efficiency improved, and the low-fee structure attracted organisations that previously couldn’t justify online fundraising. The founders praised the clear guidance and the sense of partnership they received throughout the project.
